As a commercial real estate executive with extensive expertise in development, brokerage and property management, I provide leadership for our clients that is informed by my experience representing the interests and investments of large corporations. My career began in 1986 with SCANA Development, Inc., the real estate investment arm of South Carolina Electric & Gas in Columbia, SC. When Liberty Life Insurance Real Estate Investment Group acquired SCANA Development’s real estate division in 1994, I was named Director of Operations for the company’s Charleston and Columbia, SC real estate assets. When this $28 million portfolio was sold to Liberty Property Trust, LLC, a REIT that owns over 105 million square feet of inventory in the southeastern U.S. and the U.K., I was asked to manage existing properties and create new development opportunities. With a solid foundation built on innovation, commitment and expertise in developing, leasing, selling and managing more than 1,750,000 square feet of institutional grade real estate, I opened the doors to my own company in 2000. Then, as now, my goal was to take this specialized corporate knowledge and use it to help private clients develop and manage projects that fulfill their goals in an entrepreneurial environment, with sound management practices and informed exit strategies. Caldwell Commercial operates under a corporate format, in which we use our market knowledge to assist clients in making investment and buying decisions that not only make sense in the present, but also include a solid plan for future changes and optimum profit.
